Biography
The son of a shipworker, Fyssas was, along with his father, a member of the Syndicate of Metalworkers of Piraeus (SMP). He had also been an active member of the Greek hip-hop scene since 1997, starting his music career in the Low Bap movement, and later performing alongside big names of the scene.
On September 18, 2013, Pavlos Fyssas (Killah P),was out at a cafe with his his girlfriend and another couple. Rather than run away from the assaulting squad of neo-Nazis, Pavlos tried to allow his companions to escape and confronted his assailants. He stood his ground while surrounded by a group of 20-25 thugs, some of whom were armed with sticks, when a man suddenly came driving up to him, hastily parked his car, jumped out and stabbed Pavlos twice in the chest and once in the abdomen. He died shortly after. Police from a DIAS unit (well known for fascistic tendency) were on the scene and did little to interject.
He was killed by neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party member George Roupakias in a planned attack. After the failed attempt to cover up the murder by the media as a confrontation and police inaction, a lengthy trial of the murderer and neo-Nazi organisation, followed as a “criminal organisation.” after which it was broken up. Soon to be replaced.
Quote
I will not shed a tear and I will not be afraid.
I will not let them steal my dreams.
I fly free, high, very high,
while they are jealous of my proud unbound wings.
And I’m waiting for other brothers to come here
in this mountain peak waiting for them all,
as long as they don’t cry and fear living in this well-thought-out fraud.
