Ana María Cruzado Sánchez

Catalan anarcho-syndicalist militant and anti-fascist.She was born on October 24, 1907 in La Carolina, Jaen.  Daughter of a militant family of the National Confederation of Labour (CNT), her parents were cCatalino Cruzado Guillén, jornalero, and Alejandra Sánchez Sanchez.
As a young girl emigrated with her family to Barcelona. She worked in shoe factories and in the textile sector and in 1923 she joined in the CNT Dress Union of Barcelona. In 1936 he served in the Libertarian Youth, where she met her future partner, the anarcho-syndicalist militant Antonio Zapata Córdoba (1908-2000).

At the point of ending the Civil War in February 1939 was exiled to France and She was admitted to a concentration camp. Later he lived in Font-romeu (Alta Cerdanya, Northern Catalonia) and Toulouse (Languedoc, Occitania). In 1945  She clandestinely returned to the Peninsula, with her two girls, and was arrested. One time released she continued to serve in the clandestine CNT in Barcelona.

In 1946 he was definitively exiled in France and settled in Toulouse, where she participated in the libertarian movement until death. Ana María Cruzado Sánchez died on August 26, 1982 at the Clinic Monié de Vilafranca de Lauragués (Languedoc, Occitania) and was cremated in
Cornebaris (Languedoc, Occitania). His brother, Alfonso Cruzado Sánchez (La Carolina, 1910 – Barcelona, 1983), was a member of the Transport Union of the CNT of Barcelona.
