Marina Padovese

Italian anarchist, feminist and anti-militarist, dies of leukaemia. At the age of 15 Marina Padovese was involved in campaigning during the early 1970s high school movement in Como, going on to participate in the founding of the Pensiero e Volontà group in Como, part of the Gruppi Anarchici Federati (Federated Anarchist Groups), as its then the youngest activist. Later, as a member of the Germinal group, in 1991 she played a central role in the editorial and graphic redesign of 'A-Rivista Anarchica', and during the Balkans conflict she was involved in the Donne in Nero (Women in Black) group, in solidarity with the women of the former Yugoslavia. A feminist activist, she also participated in Rede delle donne anarchiche, a network of anarchist women, and was an active anti-clerical and anti-militarist propagandist.
