Andrew Fraser

Author of "Invisible: a diary of rough sleeping in Britain".

A journalist, travel writer and author whose career took him from celebrity journalism to life on the streets. He worked as Chief Writer at OK! Magazine and later became Travel Editor and Deputy Editor of Attitude. In 2016, he published Tripping the Flight Fantastic, an account of travelling nearly 7,000 miles around Europe in search of the cheapest air fares.

Fraser later experienced homelessness and became a rough sleeper. He documented that period of his life in Invisible: A Diary of Rough Sleeping in Britain, published by Freedom Press in 2019. The book offers a first-hand account of rough sleeping in Britain and examines homelessness, housing policy and the treatment of people living on the streets. Fraser was remembered by former colleagues as an intelligent, generous and supportive journalist who encouraged younger writers.
