Grigory Yakovlevich Kobets (Рыгор Якаўлевіч Кобец)

Grigory Yakovlevich Kobets celebrated Bielorussian journalist, playwright, screenwriter and anarchist, who fought with the Makhnovshchyna (Махновщина) and later became president of the Belarusian Association of Victims of Political Repressions (Беларуская асацыяцыя ахвяраў палітычных рэпрэсій). Died in Minsk aged 92.

Born on July 12 (24), 1898 in Kirovograd region.
In 1914-1916 took part in fights in Galicia, was wounded.
In 1916-1918 he worked at the plant, on the railway.
The participant of the two revolutions is the February (anarchist group Nabat) and the October.
In 1928 he graduated from the Minsk evening technical college.
In 1929-1930 he worked in the newspaper "Working."
In 1933, 1935, 1937 - went on creative business trips to Birobidzhan, collaborated with the newspapers "Birobidzhanskaya Pravda", "Pacific Star".
He was arrested in Birobidzhan in 1938, in 1939.
In 1939-1941 he lived in Khabarovsk, worked as an editor at the studio of the film of Transbaikalia.
In 1941, he was arrested for the second time, sentenced to death, which was replaced by 10 years of camps. He was released in 1951. He received a lifetime link to Kyrgyzstan, began to work in the state farm "Chaldovar."
In 1958 he returned to Minsk, in October 1960 he was rehabilitated.

The author of the play "Guta," which in 1930 at the First All-Union Olympiad of theatrical art in Moscow took the first place and brought glory to the Theatre named after I. The Kupals. Wrote the scripts for the cinema, the musical comedy "Happy Coast" (1940, together with S. Household, Khabarovsk Theatre of Musical Comedy).

Honored Artist of the BSSR (1935).

He died on September 9, 1990.
