Kléber Nadaud

The son of a farrier and a farmer, Kléber Nadaud, an activist of the Paris Anarchist Federation, was arrested in May 1920 with Henri Delecourt*, Marcel Petelot*, G. Lattes, J. Laporte and A. Doucet and charged “with the apology of the gesture of Cottin* and provocation of soldiers to disobedience” for having placarded the poster “To the strikers” supporting the strike of the railway workers, which earned him a sentence of 4 months in prison.

K. Nadaud, who was delegated to the first congress of the Anarchist Union (AU) held in Paris on 14-15 November 1920, was responsible for the drafting of the Libertaire from No. 100 (19 December 1920) until No. 157 inclusive (20-27 January 1922). He remained then 60 rue des Amandiers (20th arr.) Sentenced to three sentences of thirteen months in prison each, he was acquitted on appeal of the one inflicted on him as the editorial secretary of the LibertaireLibertaire; the other two sentences were confused in a single one year in prison. From the prison of Health, he sent a letter to the II Congress of the AU which was held in Lyon on 26 and 27 November 1921.

It is reported in a list of the Ministry of the Interior as having disappeared from the department of the Seine in January 1923. Report: 1m66, small red blonde whiskers cut, scar right cheek, soft hat...

In 1924 he was one of the founders with Charles Anderson*, Lucien Haussard* and Content* of the newspaper L’Idée Anarchiste (Paris, 13 issues from March 13 to November 15, 1924) which specified in an editorial: “We have founded a forum where, freely, all points of view, all the tendencies of anarchism, can be expressed. »

After the Paris Congress of the Revolutionary Communist Anarchist Union (UACR) which took place on 30, 31 October and 1 November 1927 — the split congress that was marked by the creation of a new synthesizer organization, the Association of Anarchist Federalists (AFA) — Kléber Nadaud remained at the UACR and was again secretary of the editorial staff of the Libertaire. After this congress, he was also in charge with Mualdès* of the Oise Federation. In 1929 he was the secretary of the Aid Committee to Nestor Makhno*, who was responsible for receiving funds to help the latter, who was exiled in France. At the Toulouse congress of the UACR on 17 and 18 November 1931, he addressed a letter of sympathy to the congress.

According to Nicolas Faucier*, he helped Fernand Planche* to found the Conquête du Pain (Boulogne-Billancourt, 45 issues from 13 October 1934 to 13 December 1935), an organ open to all currents of anarchism whose manager was Bidault*.

Admitted to the correctional union in 1928, Kléber Nadaud was a member of the trade union committee from 1933 to 1937 and from February to June 1940. For three months he was treasurer of the union.
