Moisés Santiago Bertoni

Italian speaking Swiss naturalist, botanist and anarchist writer, who was popularly known as 'El Sabio Bertoni' in Paraguay following his emigration to South America in 1884. He was the first to describe stevia. Died of malaria in the town of Foz do Iguazu, Brazil, aged 72.
